Wheeler Nature Park SBFiN Walk #12 photos

These folks headed onto the trails
ten minutes before the SBFiN walk. 

























    Note the stratification of colors.


















 It's one of the jewel wings, genus Calopteryx and looks like maculata, female,
if maculata, the common name is Ebony Jewelwing.

On our return trip along the trail, our photo friendly
Jewelwing shows its strength
by rolling up a leaf. Impressive!










Shagbark Hickory. Very nice specimen.
