Young bird viewed at JC park in South Burlington, VT in Sept. 2015. Do you know what kind of bird this is? This immature bird has the yellow tail feather like a Waxwing, however the white eye-ring and eyeline around the eye and leading to the back of the head is not familiar to me. Perhaps the white gets mostly covered with darker forehead feathers as the bird gets older. I suspect it is a,
- Cedar Waxwing juvenile (possibly a leucistic bird)
Small mystery, but was fun!
