South Burlington birds: White-throated Sparrow photos

White-throated Sparrow photos, South Burlington, VT

South Burlington photos

Welcome to the SB Vermont Backyard Birding, Issue # 6, White-throated Sparrow.

Which sparrow wears a white bib and looks like it dunked its head in mustard?

White-throated SparrowDark crown with white stripe in the middle, eyebrow white or tan with yellow at the front, white throat.

I see White-throated Sparrows at our South Burlington, Vt backyard  predominantly feeding on the ground, seldom at our handing feeders. They appear to like proso millet spread on the ground as well as black oil sunflower seeds and rolled oats (uncooked oatmeal). Welcome to the series, SB Vermont Backyard Birding, Issue #6, White-throated Sparrow.
