Also known as 68 acres.

Red-bellied Woodpecker

Red-bellied Leafies

Red-bellied Woodpecker.

White-breasted Nuthatch.
I watched it pull out a moth and quickly eat it.
The Nuthatch also drummed away like
a Woodpecker and came up with a grub.

Guys it's easy, just ask 'Phil to leave
and you too will turn red.

This flower must be really sweet. Five or six bees and a fly harvesting on the flower.

Fly on the left, bee on the right.

I googled jack-in-the-pulpit and it turns out that those tight clustered red-orange “berries” are what’s left of Jack by this time of year.

Possibly a Cooper's Hawk

Cooper's Hawk
This image captured in early May 2015 along the bank of the Winooski River behind the airport in South Burlington (near Belter farm).  Bern says, "I was alerted to the bird by the dying screams of the rabbit" (that's the part I (Freda) don't like - those baby rabbits were born in one of our raised garden beds, and I used to hold them when their mother was away!). ~Freda Scarpa
