South Burlington, Vermont nature trails - Muddy Brook Wetland Reserve (November)

It was as much about the social gathering outdoors as it was about the guided hike on nature trails inside the new "Muddy Brook Wetland Reserve". The 48.8 acre reserve straddles the Muddy Brook and includes property in South Burlington and Williston. The park is located off of Van Sicklen road on the South Burlington/Williston town line, across from the east entrance to Cobblestone Circle. (Rte 116 South Hinesburg road to Van Sicklen Road).

Something high tailed it out of here, and left large footprints in the clear water.

                                                          See the footprints

Wild turkeys know which holiday we are about to celebrate.

Hand in Hand- no better way

Dad, you didn't tell me there would be dinosaurs!

                                                                     Catching the sun.

Outdoor Nature:  Sure beats TV, oops, I meant sure beats computer games.

                                         Birds Eye View

Are you sure we won't get lost Dad?

Don't worry young man, I will lead the way.
                                                  Trailblazing is fun.

These boots were made for walking, and that's just what we'll do.

                                              Some step around,

some jump and splash, and slip and slide.

Standing room only and none were disappointed.

                                                        From Scenic views to,

close up views of giant toothpicks.

and lots of materials to play in.
 Nature, imagination, and free spirit.

Lookie yonder,
A critter swimming, a Thrasher, or Green Heron flying;
critters putting on a show for us - no charge.

The Guide in guided tour.

The stillness of it all gives gentle comfort to babies, children and adults alike.

It is as much about,

the people

as it is about the park.

Enjoy the great outdoors alone or as a social group.

You outta see the view from up here.

The family that hikes together stays dry together. Nice boots!

Right neighborly of the neighbors to drop by.

Do you see what I see?

Don't forget binocular if you got'em.

Better than grand opening day at Walmart.

I'll be there shortly, just parking my Green transportation.

And don't forget man and woman's best friend.

That's a wrap.

Just a few last closing remarks...

Remember, the walks are free, and make you feel good.
