South Burlington Birds: American Tree Sparrow bath photos

American Tree Sparrow takes a bath on a satellite dish.

Spring is approachable as a timid beautiful bird. She sings her chorus from far away and intermittently at first. She bobs in and out. We see a splash of her color only to have her slip away camouflaged in last year’s dead leaves and grass. She teases us with a sudden flurry of refreshing notes, slowly becoming more frequent as they warm our hearts and soul. Spring forward dear spring, show yourself, be here now and stay a while. We know it is but April, however we long for your migration to our neck of the woods.

Lower Yellow mandible leads me to ID this bird as an American Tree Sparrow and not a Chipping Sparrow.
